Role Purpose

The role of Instrument Engineer-Project, is to successfully execute the project within the stipulated time frame without any cost overrun, adhering to the safety and quality standards.
Capacity expansion by adding facilities for existing and new grades contributes to the growth and expansion of the Business in terms of revenue and profit.

Project execution

1)Checking specification of all types of Field Instrumentations and Control System like PLC/HMI/SCADA and DCS in coordination with consultant and suggest any correction /revision required.
2)Releasing the final specs for floating the enquiry to vendors.
3)Working with technical engineering documents like P&ID, Instrument Index, Datasheets, Instruments Hook-up, I/O list. Etc. Efficiently working with Cable schedule, JB Schedule, Instrument wiring diagram
4)Coordinate with Purchase to expedite procurement activities including timely delivery at site

5)To identify installation / commissioning vendors in consultation with Purchase for installation of e.g., measuring & Control instruments for Temperature, Pressure, Flow, Level, Vibration and other Process parameters and Control valves/On-off Valves/MOV. Various types of Analytical instruments like PH, Conductivity, Humidity, and Various Analyzers and F&G Systems.
6)To supervise site instrumentation activities and ensure completion in time along with the defined quality standards
7)Inspection of all Instrument’s at vendor’s workshop or as per data/report provided by vendor.
8)Liaoning and supervision jobs related to execution along with ensuring availability of all resources in time.
9)Ensure maintain quality standard for all activities happened off site and at site.

Safety, Health, environment & Statutory Compliance

1)Identifying PPEs required for fabrication, erection and commissioning jobs and ensure availability and compliance.
2)Developing safe procedure/SOP for job execution.
3)Planning HIRA- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
4)Ensure all the safety standards are being followed by the contractor
5)Conducting toolbox talks and safety briefing regularly.
6)Ensure fulfillment of all statutory requirement during instrument selection, procurement, erection and commissioning.

7)Ensure environmental and health compliance as per standard PCBL guideline

 No incident and non-compliance during the course of project execution
Cost 1)Assist Project Purchase in identifying supply and service vendors for optimum cost without compromising quality.
2)Minimization of rework in project execution
3)Strict adherence to the project schedule
4)Maintaining optimum inventory of consumables and use judiciously.		 Cost within the budget

Functional skills
  • Through knowledge of all types of Field Instrumentations and Control System like PLC/HMI/SCADA and DCS.
  • Conversant with relevant Standards.
  • Conversant on Instrument Hazards, mitigating measures & appropriate PPEs.
  • Proficient in DCS Configuration, I/O Assignment, DCS/PLC Logic modification, SCADA Graphics modification will be advantage. Knowledge of Emerson DCS DELTA V will be preferable. Should be familiar with technical engineering documents like P&ID, Instrument Index, Datasheets, Instruments Hook-up, I/O list. FAT,SAT and commissioning experience of instrumentation & Control System
  • Leadership capability to handle a workforce of around 30 contactor personnel
