Role Purpose

The Battery Application Lab Associate supports battery research and development activities through material preparation, slurry formulation, battery testing support, analytical characterization, and laboratory operations. The role ensures accurate execution of experiments, proper documentation of test results, and adherence to safety standards while supporting scientists and engineers in developing advanced battery materials and technologies.

Material Preparation & Formulation
• Prepare and process advanced materials using mixers, mills, and furnaces.
• Weigh and mix active materials, binders, and solvents.
• Maintain sample traceability through proper labeling and storage.
• Consistent slurry quality.
• Accurate formulations meeting specifications.
• Complete traceability of samples.
Analytical Characterization
• Conduct viscosity, tap density, particle size, and moisture measurements.
• Support material characterization activities.
• Timely completion of testing.
• Reliable and repeatable analytical results.
Data Collection & Documentation
• Record experimental parameters and test results.
• Generate basic data analysis and reports.
• Maintain SOPs and laboratory documentation.
• Accurate laboratory records.
• Timely reporting of results.
• Updated documentation and SOP compliance.
Equipment Maintenance & Lab Operations
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot balances, cyclers, gloveboxes, and ovens.
• Monitor inventory of materials and laboratory consumables.
• Equipment uptime and readiness.
• Minimal downtime.
• Adequate inventory levels.
Safety & Compliance
• Adhere to chemical, electrical, and hazardous material handling procedures.
• Support safe storage and disposal practices.
• Zero safety violations.
• Compliance with laboratory procedures.
• Successful safety audits.
